What you are buying

A used Mazda CX-60 cylinder head, sold honestly as a used casting with the checks we can make already done.

What we checked

• Inspected for visible cracks between the valve seats and around the injector or plug bores
• Deck checked with a straight edge for obvious warp
• Valves and seats inspected, and the head checked for signs of overheating
• Cam journals and, where fitted, the cam checked for scoring
• Cleaned and stored indoors with the faces protected

Before you fit it

This is a used head sold as a used head. We have not pressure tested or machined it, and we are not going to tell you we have. Have your machine shop pressure test it, skim the deck and grind the valves as a matter of course. That work is inexpensive next to the labour of taking the engine apart twice, and it is what turns a used casting into a reliable repair.

Use a new head gasket and new head bolts. They are torque to yield and cannot be reused. If your original head failed through overheating, fix the cooling system first or this one will go the same way.

Send us the number cast into your old head, or your VIN, and we will confirm the match in writing before you pay anything.

Warranty and delivery

Three months mechanical warranty on the casting from delivery or collection, conditional on the head being pressure tested and fitted by a qualified technician. Prices include VAT. Delivery is quoted separately per unit and per destination.
