It is listed against the Automatic code. We sell on the code, not the model name, because manufacturers change injectors, looms, mounting points and sensor positions mid-generation and two vehicles that look identical can take completely different units.

What we checked

• Listened to under hand load for bearing noise on the input and output shafts
• Synchro drag checked on the shifts that normally fail first
• Oil drained and inspected for metal, then refilled for storage
• Casing checked for cracks, stripped threads and scored seal faces
• Shifted through every gate, including reverse, on the bench

Fitting advice

Replace the clutch kit, rear main seal and spigot bearing while the box is out, and use the correct oil specification. On an automatic, replace the fluid and filter and flush the cooler lines. Skipping those is what turns a good used box into a second job.
